Hebrews 10:25 Not Forsaking the Assembling

Last night, as I was anticipating the Lord's Day service, I remembered that this day is set aside, one day in seven when we can rest from our labors and service to the Lord, to come, gather with God's people and receive from His hand, the precious Word and sacrament. Hearing the Word of God proclaimed in the assembly of the saints is a means of grace to His people, to enrich, nourish and strengthen our weary souls.

Sadly, the culture of American Christianity has lost sight of the importance and necessity of life in the local church. Some have split off from the local assembly, completely, neglecting one of the greatest gospel benefits we have in life. The New Testament writers would know
no such thing as an independent or isolated Christian. Church life is not about personalities and programs, it is about the proclamation, preaching, and priority of the Gospel of Jesus.
